All bear photos are of animals photographed in the Alaska wild. The Grizzly Bear photos were captured in Denali National Park, Lake Clark National Park, Chugach National Forest or Tongass National Forest - Inside Passage - Inside Passage. Denali National Park is one of the easiest and most accessible locations in the world to see Grizzly bears. It is not uncommon to have them walking right down the road past busses full of visitors. There was a time when coastal bears were considered Brown Bears, and interior bears, Grizzly. It is now believed they are the same species and the two terms often get used interchangeably. The coastal Brown Bear definitely grows much larger, this is because of the readily available food sources such as salmon. Bears in Denali often spend there time grazing on plants and roots and because of this, don't tend to grow as large.
The Black Bear photos are from Kenai Fjords National Park, Chugach National Forest or Tongass National Forest - Inside Passage - Inside Passage. One researcher told me that Kenai Fjords may contain the highest concentration of black bears anywhere on earth.
Polar Bear photos are from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.
